The second Mastic Beach race went off better than expected. Everyone arrived on time and were race ready at high noon. the water conditions were better than last month, but we still had to be careful.

The crowd's on hand to view the racing were the largest I've ever seen for a EORC race since I started racing. There had to have been at least 200-300 people on the beach shoreline, picking who to cheer for during the heats and clapping for the winners as their name's were announced by the judges. Rumors have it that one of our club's member's were mobbed for autograph's.

Our last two races of the year will be on 9/18 at North Sea Harbor and ending the season on 10/2 at Cold Spring Pond. If a few more club members can be able to show up, it would make the races a bit more exciting.

Our Awards Banquet has been set for January 14, 2006 at the Elks Club in Riverhead.
