Our season is just around the corner. Will you be ready? Our race dates are set, and we are looking forward to putting on 4 races this year.

We discussed putting on an AOF Race at our March meeting. There were a few issues that came up. All racers must wear complete kevlar protection. I think this is a good idea whether we run AOF or not. Also each boat must have a kill switch. I know the kill switch and saltwater is an issue with some people but it CAN work. We thought that the Flanders race would be the best location for an AOF race. We are going to make a final decision on the AOF race at our next meeting. If you have any concerns about putting on an AOF race, please let me know. You know of the two issues ahead of time, this gives you time to work it out.

I will not be able to attend next month’s meeting. Howie Pickerell, Vice Commodore, will run the meeting. Again, if there are any concerns please call me at 516-312-8735

The March meeting went well with a good showing of members; however, it would be nice to see more attendees. There is sometimes backlash due to things decided at meetings, and the only thing I can say is that if you want your voice to be heard, say it at the meeting. No one has time to second guess what everyone wants to accomplish as a club. We are starting to gain in our membership and that’s a good thing. But with new people come more voices.. The place for discussion on planning, rule changes, race dates, etc. is at the meetings.
